Baby Vision
1. A newborn
baby can see things only at a distance of 8-12 inches. That is about
the distance at which it can see a mother’s face during feed. The
vision is very fuzzy. Also they can only view black, white and gray. 2. In the first month
a baby cannot see things in tandem. They prefer highly contrasted
patterns to plain surfaces. 3. In the third month
babies can see moving objects and start distinguishing between colors .
They first see red color and by the end of third month, they see the
whole spectrum. They also start recognizing things. 4. Between four and
six months of age, baby’s vision can have depth
perception. Hand-eye coordination also develops during this period.
Right time to play peek-a-boo! 5. By the sixth month,
a baby can see almost like an adult. 6. When a good number of things or
toys with different colors are given to the baby, it rises, curiosity,
